Michael Piercy
Michael came into the fitness industry full-time following a career in professional baseball in which he played for three major league organizations (New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates & Montreal Expos). During his Baseball career, he has had the honor of working with and creating programs for many fellow athletes, providing the foundation for a future career in the fitness industry.
He is the founder/owner of The LAB, and one of only a few TRX Senior Master Course Instructors in the world. He has spent the last ten years delivering suspension training education programming to elite-level fitness professionals around the globe. He is the recipient of both the 2017 IDEA Personal Trainer of the year award and the 2013 TRX Overall Instructor of the Year award (F.A.C.E.U.P) for a great attitude, community spirit, and inspirational teaching. His specialty is Performance enhancement for the modern athlete.
In founding the LAB his goal was to provide high-level coaching which provides clients of all levels with the tools to find and awaken their inner athlete to become the best version of themselves. He is a subject matter expert, author, and Conference Presenter for a variety of major fitness brands including ACE (American Council of Exercise), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), ACSM (The American College of Sports Medicine), and IDEA Fitness & Health Association.
He has also been featured in Media Outlets such as Men’s Health Magazine, Muscle & Fitness Magazine, Women’s Health, and American Fitness. Among his numerous Advanced level Certifications, he is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with Distinction (CSCS*D), Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and holds both a Bachelor of Science degree from Kean University and a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Performance Enhancement from the California University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of the bestselling Men’s Health Magazine “30 Minute shred” training guide.
